“Mind-Full” and “Mindful” are two phrases that are similar in sound and spelling, but have VERY different meanings.
Even the image above shows very clearly what the difference between the two words actually look like thought wise. One is very chaotic and all over the place and the other looks like a gentle flow. One looks to be much calmer than the other.
“Mindful” refers to being present and fully engaged in the present moment, with a non-judgmental and accepting attitude. It involves paying attention to one’s thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without being overwhelmed by them or reacting impulsively.
On the other hand, “Mind-Full” refers to a state of mental overload or overwhelm, where one’s thoughts and concerns become too much to handle. It can lead to stress, anxiety, and other negative emotions.
In short, “Mindful” refers to a state of awareness and presence, while “Mind Full” refers to a state of mental overload and overwhelm. Which do you want to be behind the chair and in life?
The easiest way to move from Mind-Full into being Mindful is simple.
Practice being INTENTIONAL. This keeps you present, aware and keeps you from ‘Just going through the motions”.
Not to mention it opens your eyes to all the opportunity that surrounds you.
It also helps you to become more PRO-active vs REACTIVE. (Have you ever hung out with a two year old for a few hours? They are really cute but extremely reactive….Cue the Melt Down!!!! It’s not so cute when you become an adult by age 😉
How can you show up being Intentional?
-
Prepare for your day and look for opportunity
-
Dress the part
-
Listen better and ask better questions
-
Do a kickass consultation
-
Own and hone your power as a hairstylist
-
Practice your skillset
-
Do thought work
-
Be present
The list is endless.
Being Mindful helps you create more value which helps you to become even more valuable.
